Just thought I’d post an update on my heart problems. I went to the cardiologist this morning, and got the results of the stress test. There has been no real change in the strength of my heart; it’s still around 35%. The stress test also indicated that I may have a blocked artery in my heart. The doctor is sending me for a CT Angiogram sometime in the next couple of weeks to help determine whether there is an actual blockage, and how bad it might be if one exists.

Due to my age, the doctor is not wanting to do a catheter angiogram unless it is absolutely necessary. We have not discussed what will be done if there is a blocked artery. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Oh, and my blood pressure was really good when they checked it this morning. It was 122/80, which is about as good as it could have been. So that was a positive.

Unfortunately, I’ve reached a point where the enormity and severity of what I’m dealing with is really taking a toll on me mentally. Really struggling with this heart thing. I’m trying to stay positive about it, but it’s difficult to do all the time. Keep me in your prayers.

Well, I went to the eye doctor on Thursday for the first time since my diagnosis, and got really good news. They found no signs of any damage in either of my eyes. And the doctor said that the blurry vision issues I’ve been having should go away once I’ve got my BG levels under control. So, unless there are any problems, I don’t have to go back for another year. I didn’t have to get new glasses or anything, either, so this it was a rather inexpensive visit. Always a plus.

I’ve been half blind since then because they had to dilate my eyes during the exam. I really don’t like that stuff, but I guess it’s a necessary evil. Working at the newspaper tonight was a lot of fun. 🙂

Just thought I’d share that bit of good news.
