Extra! Extra! Read all about…Me!

As you may already know, I have been fortunate enough to have my diagnosis story picked up and published in the Summer 2011 issue of Diabetic Living Magazine.  That issue went on sale May 17th.

Many thanks to Kelly Rawlings for making this possible!

I am super excited about this event, and even more excited about being able to share it with you here on My Diabetic Heart. And I’d love to hear from you after you read it. So drop a comment below. Enjoy!

Great article. I’m sure it will inspire someone to seek help.
    Congratulations!
    My favorite:
There is no shame in having health

seeking the help you need to control them
    before it is too late.

I could really relate to depression and diabetes. I don’t have CHF, but I definitely have the dual diagnosis of depression and diabetes. For me, depression has plagued me many years of my adult life, while diabetes is a diagnosis I’ve had for only two years now. Gratefully, my depression is well under control at this time. I have a hard time taking care of my diabetes because I do a lot to maintain my mental health and I just get sick of taking care of myself so well. I took very good care of my diabetes the first year, and this past year, I felt like, I’m sick of having diabetes! Fortunately I did not have any problems with that lack of care. Yet it’s time to pick up the slack and do something before diabetes takes it’s toll on me!

Hi Mike, This is the very first issue of Diabetic Living that I have purchased as I had found their website and pop-ups kept coming up to subscribe, but I wanted to see what it was like first. I really appreciated your article. I have just been diagnosed with diabetes. I am assuming that it’s type 2, but I have a doctor’s appointment this Friday morning to find out for sure and to discuss medication. I haven’t posted about it on my blog yet as I want to wait until I have all of the information from my doctor. Thanks for sharing your story in Diabetic Living. I’m sure I’ll visit your blog frequently.
